"I like sincerity"

That is, I like it unless I am making good-natured fun of something that probably should be made fun of, with the intent of seeking improvement.

I don't wear a watch, and I don't like buzzwords if I can avoid it. I like sincerity, being collaborative, and solving problems instead of pulling the wool over eyes.

One thing for sure, you are always right if you forecast war.

@Rich isn't that the job of a consultant? I've seen it defined as someone who looks at your watch and charges for telling you the time.

Leave it to McKinsey to act as if the obvious lessons from history were profound McKinsey discoveries.

Indian middle class is already getting the taste of this resource crunch . This generation which grew on the abundant and free drinking water  has to now buy it in a bottled form spending almost equal amount that it spend on the gasolene.

The prices of foodgrains have almost tripled in just last couple of years.

So while the young generation is getting inundated in the flood of modern electronic smart gadgets at much cheaper prices compared to a decade ago, the basic survival related things like food, water and shelter are going beyond reach of the middle class.

The time to get alarmed!!

I've seen several examinations of the concept that he (or she) that controls water will control the world. It's been a theme in sci-fi, but McKinsey's examination of that issue as well as other natural resources really makes you think. We've already seen how a few countries holding most of the oil production can change economies--I don't think it is too far of a stretch to include other natural resources. Fasicnating subject--thanks for the post. I'm bookmarking it!

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital.

It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions?
