This is a really good push towards actualizing efficient health technology. But there're challenges for health technology -  delivery reliable software. So also ever growing dependecy on software has also called for co-design and integration with cyber devices, as well addressing other properties such as fault tolerance, safety and security.

Meanwhile, in  the UK, there's an NGO launched few months ago by some group of people from Newcastle university and NHS bringing  together software expertise and IT professionals to bring forward any innovations that could help in health technology. http://www.handihealth.org/about-2/whose-behind-handi

Dear Wale

Thanks for the link to HANDI, which is another example of technology leaders and healthcare stakeholders getting together to develop mHealth innovation, in this case to develop healthcare applications that will run on mobile devices. There's no doubt that interest in advancing mHealth is taking place in many countries. Here's an article on what is happening in Ghana:

Here's another article on mHealth in India: http://healthworkscollective.com/drneelesh/42426/indians-expect-lead-mhealth-revolution-pwc-survey

And still another article on what's happening in Latin America:

Thanks for reading my article, and for your comments.

I hope the various spectrum governing bodies and standards approvers collaborate to try make the best of global interoperability.  With such a large global market it would be great if products were truly interoperable so prices can be driven down.

Dear FLYINGSCOT,

Mobile Health is still a nascent industry, and as new products are increasingly used by physicians and patients there will be a push for health plans to consider covering the costs associated with using mHealth techology for care delivery.

Thanks for reading this article and for your comments.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions? Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of EBN, will lead a 60-minute Avnet Velocity panel discussion that will ask and answer these and other questions swirling around today's supply-chain talent challenges.
