Yes, Jennifer. :) I'm writing something about it. One thing I can tell, the weeks before the end of the year are going to be interesting.

Bolaji,

It's really hard for anyone to deliver something that people are not able to define themselves. Whenever I have asked people what they expected from Apple from this latest product announcement no one has been able to define a product or a feature clearly, and with determination. Every response -if any- has been vague, under the umbrella of the great world "innovation".

You have summarized very well what I think about this issue.

@Susan:

I would agree with you. The Lumia 920 is a good smartphone. Any insights about the OS? I haven't given it a shot myself but I would love to try it in the future.

pocharle,

Yes, I have to say that the Lumia 920 feels and looks really good. It's super fast, and I got a very good impression of it. The design and hardware is beautiful. :)

Some of the apps are almost ready to be published. I have already seen and tried some of them.

I suppose Nokia have to fight its a way out. They are actually not quitting the fight. The models launched recently are really good ones with differentiating features and nokias rugged trademark hardware.

I know a couple of guys working hard on Windows apps too. Quite promising, even though some of their complaints is that certain features of the Windows apps store is not quite as mature as Apple or google.

Susan - Looking forward to hearing what the Nokia-Windows folks say. As impressive as the Lumia 920 sounds, they'll have to take a pretty mighty leap to catch up with Samsung's and Apple's popularity.

t.alex, barbara - yes, the Lumia 920 - running on the new Windows Phone 8 OS, shows promise, but right what the apps? These guys did a review of the phone and weigh the pos and cons: http://blog.chron.com/techblog/2012/11/the-smartphone-decision-what-about-the-nokia-lumia-920-review/

Susan, Nowadays people don't know really what they expect from Apple. They just expect something different than what every other company is doing. That's a tall order and Apple's inability to deliver on what its customers think it should give them, which they really are unable to define themselves, is reflected in the stock price fall.

A new report shows that most of the worrisome issues that the supply chain industry has been dealing with for years are not new, but there are some new concerns that need answers. Here’s a look at what keeps supply chain professionals up at night.
When it comes to shipping supplies from China to Europe, trains might be the most cost-effective way companies have available to them. DHL is looking to jump on that bandwagon.
For many dealing with the enormous task of tracking, reporting, and resolving issues associated with potential counterfeit parts, there is a collective hope that 2013 will bring clearer guidance on what needs to be done by whom and when.
It's debatable whether visibility should be a stand-alone system or something more comprehensive than a single software platform.
A necessary foundation for moving efficiently at real-time speed, supply chain analytics is still very much at the beginning stages of development at many companies.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions?
