Susan,

You said it so yourself in a previous post-Most people are like Parrots(or should I say lemmings);who are ready to get herded off a cliff!!!

In such a sceanario the Public(which makes the Ultimate Buying Decisions)will always compare what others Feel or think about a particular smartphone.

Its inevitable and human nature.

Ashish.

Susan,

That's the big difference is'nt it?

In Android and IOS-Developers are clamouring to get in and develop apps for those platforms;with Windows you have to incentivize the Developer.

That says everything.

Ashish,

Before this week I would have agreed with you. Today, I don't. I saw the demos of some of the apps about to come out. They are great. Some of the best developers have been chosen for this. You will have to wait and see. :)

Ashish,

Maybe the solution is to stop the endless comparison with all the other smartphones.

Ashish! :D Gosh! and this was before the real iPhone 5. Super funny. The one who stoke me was the one saying he had an iPhone 4S, but this one was lot better. :D Some people don't know what they want, and just repeat what they hear from others, or read somewhere, like parrots.

"Yes a number of apps are ready on App Store."

No, that's not possible. The new apps I am talking about have not been published yet.

Yes a number of apps are ready on App Store. In fact the tiles concept in windows phone is pretty good idea. A number of apps for iphone do try to imitate this feature.

Susan,

Two things dominate 3rd party developers decisions on whether or not to develop on a New OS[And Windows Mobile will be a new OS for them].

One is Reach/size of the potential market-On this measure Windows falls below iOS,Android and RIM today.

The Second is how expensive Developer software and support for Developers is-Here Windows scores above iOS and RIM but there is still more to be done here.

Till these things happen it will take a longtime for Windows Apps to catch up with the Android and iOS stores today.

Regards

Ashish.

Susan,

I have used the Lumia 920;its a good phone. However it is neither a Game-Changer with the WOW!!! Factor that the Samsung SIII brought to the market-place or has the marketing muscle (& Pschyological Power) of the Iphone behind it.

That's the whole tragedy of Nokia's Smartphones today-So,What's the solution?

Egdy creative designs and UI friendly formats in my opinion.Something which brings the Cool factor back into Nokia Smartphones.Else its gonna be too late for them there.

Ashish.

People can't even tell the Difference between Iphone 4S and Iphone 5[When both phones are the same 4S model] forget about the scope for Innovation!!!

Ashish.

A new report shows that most of the worrisome issues that the supply chain industry has been dealing with for years are not new, but there are some new concerns that need answers. Here’s a look at what keeps supply chain professionals up at night.
When it comes to shipping supplies from China to Europe, trains might be the most cost-effective way companies have available to them. DHL is looking to jump on that bandwagon.
For many dealing with the enormous task of tracking, reporting, and resolving issues associated with potential counterfeit parts, there is a collective hope that 2013 will bring clearer guidance on what needs to be done by whom and when.
It's debatable whether visibility should be a stand-alone system or something more comprehensive than a single software platform.
A necessary foundation for moving efficiently at real-time speed, supply chain analytics is still very much at the beginning stages of development at many companies.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions? Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of EBN, will lead a 60-minute Avnet Velocity panel discussion that will ask and answer these and other questions swirling around today's supply-chain talent challenges.
