Switching suppliers at the drop of a hat sounds like a good way to wind up at the bottom of a supplier's priority list.

It is turing technology into profit for advanced organizations or business processes. Since each company has a different need the dimensions may vary but the bottomline stays the same for all.

Has the supply chain typically been flexible? I've always thought of it as a little slower to change compared to, say, the design end.
