Tam--you are right on point about technology and job-creation. There is still a perception that tech is only for the highly-educated and does not generate middle-class jobs. To a certain extent, that is true of manufacturing, but some of the highest-tech equipment: military, healthcare, security and communications still have a manufacturing/assembly presence in the US. Unfortunately, that's done by robots and not people. I think tech is too initimadating to talk about during the campaign. Outsourcing certainly got a lot of attention, though...
