No one who is working on developing NFC would have thought there could be an application like this. Probably there is no end to market as long as you are creative.

"Now with these "hardware" figures selling like hotcakes I will need to take a closer look at what electronics are inside these little critters"

@FLYINGSCOT: That's indeed something important for you and other hardware manufacturers to look in to. Since this is a new market and the products are in the early stages, it might be of great benefit to step into it and experiment with a few toys like the ones mentioned in the blog.

The new toy generation
TaimoorZ   2/28/2013 5:35:25 AM

I think this probably marks the beginning of the new toy generation where physical toy characters become much more than just pieces of plastic put on the shelf. In a way they come to life and become more interesting. Children will find them more fun to collect them and their ability to communicate with one another will add to the excitement.

I make hardware so don't often look at the games market for ideas as I normally think of it as mainly a software sales play.  Now with these "hardware" figures selling like hotcakes I will need to take a closer look at what electronics are inside these little critters.  Thanks for the post.
