I think camera system is more expensive and not easy to be integrated into mobile devices.

Such kind of touch less technologies for touch screen based products are good in a sense that they are health friendly. All these smart touch screen based gadgets are subject to getting covered by infectious bacteria as generally nobody cares to disinfect them .

Can you really compare it with camera system? Camera system can be much more advance. For example, it can detect eye movements, flickering of eyes, nodding of head etc. Microchip device looks good but it is more like advanced intelligent proximity sensor. Also, how does it take care for false sensing?

This is definitely exciting. But how is this compared to accelerometer and gyroscope that we often find in smartphones nowadays ?
