Rich, In fact, everyone is sharing the same production processes and equipment if they have an outsourced supply chain. They have similar exposures and more or less similar advantages. The differentiation has moved from the supply chain to the design and marketing. Not since a long time ago has goodwill become so critical.

You raise some good points on this subject.  In my experience it is a very challenging task to choose the correct provider.  I also believe companies change providers to quickly rather than working with them to solve longer term issues.

3 great point but for me Production Value is # 1. By looking at it we can grab an idea of the quality involved in it.

It may not be possible all the time to meet the majr requirements provided in your article. But overall it makes it very clear to chose some one who is not just running the business based on our business.
