@flyingScot, i'm not sure about the answer to your question...I would imagine that a consultant could have the expertise without the accreditation.

I wsa surprised to read that only those working in certain fields could gain accreditation.  I wonder if an individual consultant could gain accreditation so as to help train others?

Lia, it's always good option to opt for certification. It's the way of registering the skills or talent for accreditation. But I personal feel that it won't create any distingussion between a certificate holder and others.
