eStefdebont, thanks! Clearly, organizations won't get behind green initiatives until there is clear business value and I believe we are getting closer to that.

In the organizations you have seen, has the focus been more customer or operations? And what do you think is behind that?

Great article.

Finally the importance of Reverse Supply Chain Management is recognized. There are so many reasons for returns:

- distant selling

- service and warranty

- recall

- take back and trade in

My view on the reverse chain is that is should both cover a "customer service" side and an "operational" side. Companies that take reverse logistics serious will only benefit if they are able to unlock the values from both sides.

What my company is doing: we have and are still heavily investing in developing Returns Management Software as a Service to brands and retailers.
