I am curious in the supply chain business, how accurate are sales predictions? And how do we predict as close as possible to the actual order numbers?

I enjoy reading the various blogs as it gives me a broader perspective of the supply chain.  It is great to read the comments and to get the Q&A from the industry experts.  I would like to see a bit more analysis of data trends to help try to predict what is coming in future however.
