Funny indeed. Though, proto types of all such technologies are already in market, the only question is how much they cost and do they make an economic sense to the customer? It all boils down to the value percieved vs cost and I dont think any of these futuristic toys can attract business with their offensive price tags!

I promise I'm coming up with these off the top of my head. It's humorous.

@pocharle - keep expanding on that idea and take a look at an Israeli company called Lumus: http://www.lumus-optical.com/

Now look at that... It's been done and I didn't even know. So now I must expand on that idea. Now it's just a matter of time until we have Superman-like glasses and can watch different media through our glasses (not so safe but an option).

We're not too far off.  There are new watches that are internet enabled and can get email, weather updates, stock quotes, etc...

It will. It's only a matter of time until everything is some scale of mini-PC. I bet we'll have watches with streaming TV soon enough.

I see that the media tablets will become PC-like tablets as time goes by.  The need for speed , additional storage, and functionality will continue to increase putting pressure on the media tablet manufacturers to acquiesce to consumer demand.  Can we really assume that the media tablets of today will really be the same years from now?  They will be more powerful and have more features…more like mini PCs.

This article is very interesting. Infact not only sentimental on forecasting but addressed the foreseeable future in mobile computing.

Meanwhile, am still waiting to see if media tablet computer would be able to carry out other functionalities in corporate environments.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions? Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of EBN, will lead a 60-minute Avnet Velocity panel discussion that will ask and answer these and other questions swirling around today's supply-chain talent challenges.
