CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Everspin Technologies, the global leader in MRAM product development and manufacturing, has named Steffen Hellmold to the position of vice president of marketing. Steffen will lead the market development for new application opportunities with Everspin’s current Toggle MRAM products and its next-generation Spin-Torque MRAM (ST-MRAM) technology.
“Steffen brings to Everspin the next level of skill and knowledge that will enable MRAM to reach broader market opportunities,” said Phill LoPresti, president and CEO of Everspin. “He will lead our efforts to establish MRAM in the marketplace as a new memory and storage tier that offers non-volatility with random access memory performance. Our ST-MRAM technology will enable a new generation of high performance, ultra low-power devices that offer instant on/off capability for a broad array of applications.”
Steffen joins Everspin with more than 15 years of industry experience in senior product marketing, technical marketing and business development roles in both the semiconductor memory and storage sub-systems industries.
“Steffen has found a venue with Everspin where he can define state-of-the-art memories for storage solutions,” said Alan Niebel, CEO, Web-Feet Research. “He is uniquely qualified to utilize his experience with volatile and non-volatile memories as well as mass storage subsystems converging on the latest MRAM technologies.”
Before joining Everspin, Steffen served in executive management positions at Sandforce Inc., Seagate Technology, Lexar Media, Inc. (a subsidiary of Micron Technology), Samsung Semiconductor and SMART Modular Technologies. He received his master's of science in electrical engineering and master’s of business administration from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and holds three issued patents in non-volatile memory and storage products.
Everspin was the first to develop MRAM, or magnetic RAM, and is the only company today manufacturing MRAM devices servicing tier one customers. Everspin’s current product portfolio is based on its patented Toggle cell design that delivers high reliability in harsh environments, unlimited endurance, data retention and low latencies. The company has an active R&D and product development program focused on next-generation ST-MRAM and is on track to deliver the industry’s first ST-MRAM product.
