That's true. And then they forget what they have talked. So then they can blame some spying about their big mouth. Sometimes people talk too much.

Pocharle, when the job market is volatile and unemployment rate shoots up, I won't think none of the employees will take such risks.

People talk. You don't have to spy necessarily. Word of mouth will usually be indicative of who's hot & who's not.

Pocharle, you are right if they are expressing their unhappiness. But in most of the cases none of them express their unhappiness to the top level, so HR used to do the spy works through colleagues.

Not really. You just have to keep cloase and maintain a pulse on what's going on in the organization. Most management pushes this task on lower level managers so they don't have to think about it. Being proactive is the key to the game.
