While some school of thoughts believed that we have been living in the Post-PC Era- A time when there would be more use of portable devices and less PC,what it would really look like is still a big guess in the sense that we have come this far by PC, will PC really go into extinction or still exist or coexist with the so called portable smart devices?

Should we expect to see devices like wristwatches,Ipods and eyeglasses to become internet connect devices for a more comfortable daily human activities.

Post-PC Era-What do you ecpect it to be like?

At this time I believe there will always be a demand for a main computer such as laptop or desktop PC that could be used to sync with all the mobile devices. The PC will still have the ability to be more powerful, have more storage, larger screen, and be able to handle many peripherals.

@Clairvoyant. You are right, but do you fore-see a reduction in the number of PC users or PC becoming the major tool to certain set of people?

Yes, Adeniji, I do see there being a drop in the number of PC sales due to people using mobile devices that don't need the extra features a PC has.

I will expect a light weight, brighter display, faster that never struck, longer batter life at the less price. And also expects a quality speakers with smoother key board and a better key pad.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions? Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of EBN, will lead a 60-minute Avnet Velocity panel discussion that will ask and answer these and other questions swirling around today's supply-chain talent challenges.
