Hi, elctrnx_lyf

"And definitely there is no other better place than finland to launch the product."

That made me think if Nokia could be trying to get Finland's enthusiasm for Nokia back holding Nokia World 2012 in Finland, and not in London as usual.

Hi, Jaden

Yes, indeed. With a Windows 8 Nokia tablet in the market, would you give preference to Nokia or to one of the other upcoming Windows 8 tablets?

Yes, Rich, that's what I meant. :)

Or better, I can post it together with a blog on Nokia World as illustration. That, if there is one existing tablet by then, of course. I assume there will be one; it makes sense.

Indeed, Anna. :)

You're based in London, aren't you? Have you ever gone to a Nokia World there?

Hi Susan,

This is really interesting development. Nokia, MS to join and provide quite strong alternate to Apple. I will eagerly await your post for apps. They should also start new model for App world - like Netflix. Pay $2/month or so and have access to all good apps.

"I can send you a picture of the tablet in September if Nokia already has one to show at Nokia World. :D Would you like that?"

Ooooo, yes! Maybe post it here, too.

Hi, Cryptoman

"...simply compete with only the Windows based tablets that are going to be rolled out after September."

Most likely that's what is going to happen.

Peter Drucker famously said "Trying to predict the future is like trying to drive down a country road at night with no lights while looking out the back window." Yet in the razor's-edge world of electronics—with a lean supply chain and just-in-time demands—the need to know the future is vital. While no one really can accurately predict the future, we can take guidance from another Drucker saying which is the best way to predict the future is to create it.

You've heard the saying "the No. 1 supply chain risk is your people." That hasn't always been the case. But today's complex global supply chain requires a new type of multitalented employee. It's one who understands, finance, marketing, economics, is savvy with technology, graceful with relationships and can think analytically. Where are these people? Are universities properly preparing the next generation supply chain professionals? How do train your existing workforce for these new, demanding positions? Brian Fuller, editor-in-chief of EBN, will lead a 60-minute Avnet Velocity panel discussion that will ask and answer these and other questions swirling around today's supply-chain talent challenges.
