Thanks @ TaimoorZ. I suspect that there's an inherent corporate culture change that needs to happen.

"Have you found any methods that bring sales and ops closer together"

@Hailey: I think there are two sides to it. One is the people's dimension which involves having a more closer relationship between sales and operations and having regular meetings. The other is the process side which involves having processes where the inputs of both sides is important when it comes to planning and forecasting.

@TaimoorZ, there's often big disconnects between various departments and they cause big problems. Have you found any methods that bring sales and ops closer together?

The changing standards are directly linked with accelerating technology. People nowadays are more technically forward, thanks to all the marketing campaigns from companies, but this also creates the supply and demand problem, along with changing of assembly lining through each new product. I think along with the Integration, Planning, Aligning, and Executing of tasks for a much less complicated and faster output, one should also focus on labour. Increased availability of skilful labour may reduce the complexity by facilitating all these criteria.

@Hailey: I think for me integrate is the most critical step based on what I have seen in sales and operations planning. The sheer lack of synergies between sales and operational teams can result in huge inefficiencies at times. More often, the integration is easier said than done.

THanks, Matthew. Of the four steps, which do you think is the most challenging to the electronics industry? Where are we most ahead of the game?
