@Prabhakar, i think coaches will still be required but one can get away with fewer lessons and focus more on the weak areas.

The sports technologies in general are getting smarter and cheaper and by providing a real time quality feedback people will surely benefit.

One of the biggest advatage of such wearable devices and doing your own analysis is that you would do away with  those Sports Coaches. The sports coaches are expensive, thye want you to learn their style of play , they are sometimes unduely demanding and what not.

With your own analysis tool with such a wearable devive , you become your own coach!

To me, these types of applications will be even more valuable as we are able to link all our health data together. Today there's one app for food tracking, another for walking/excercise, antoher for golf swing. I want a health dashboard. I think we'll get there.

Data Acquisition when applied to sports world so easily and comfortably, it could be so useful for the sportsmen. You dont need big companies spending expensive time and technology to get the data that these simple device can get. And when its at the comfort of the sportsman its so fantastic. They can achive much bigger goals themselves.
