In today's outsource-dominated global electronics industry, much of the value in an OEM brand owner's operations is highly dependent on businesses outside of the company's four walls—and increasingly outside their home region. With the volatility, complexity and uncertainty of market demand and the global economy, more comprehensive supply chain risk management is quickly becoming a major competitive differentiator. The lack of supply chain multi-tier visibility undoubtedly prevents our enterprise-wide capability of making course corrections when there are challenges in supply or changes in demand. Douglas Kent, Vice President, Avnet Velocity
Douglas Kent is vice president in charge of Avnet Velocity, Avnet Inc.'s global supply chain solutions organization. Prior to his current position at Avnet, Kent was president of eKNOWtion, a global supply chain consultancy, and chief strategist/director of InForum, a high-tech research and networking firm. Kent's previous career at Avnet spanned from 1992 to 1999, during which he worked for the company as director of supply chain marketing and operations, director of client operations and vice president at Avnet's Integrated Materials Services in the U.S. and U.K. In addition, Kent is currently the European director of the Supply Chain Council and was an adjunct professor at the International University of Monaco's MBA programs in operations, logistics and supply chain management. He has also taught several masters-level courses in the areas of supply chain procurement, consulting and information systems at France's SKEMA business school, and is one of a handful of SCOR® certified instructors. Kent earned his MBA at Pepperdine University.

Rich Becks, General Manager, High Technology, E2open
Rich Becks joined E2open in 2006, and currently serves as General Manager, High Technology. Rich is responsible for leading E2open's product management strategy and development of World Class supply chain solutions. Rich's focus is on translating customer needs into leading edge products that rapidly deliver value. Becks joined the company in 2006.

Prior to joining E2open, Rich served as Vice President of Supply Chain at Seagate Technology. During his tenure at Seagate Technology, Rich implemented a number of E2open's software-as-a-service solutions, helping Seagate to gain industry recognition as a leader and innovator in the supply chain space. Rich specialized in areas of demand-driven replenishment systems and inter-company collaboration. Rich has over 20 years of experience in Materials and Supply Chain Management working for large multinational data storage companies.

Rich holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix.
