4 Factors to Consider When Optimizing the Supply Chain

As the list of disruptive supply chain technologies explodes, more and more organizations are recognizing the potential competitive advantage of being early adopters. Advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles and robots, and blockchain each have then potential, when implemented well, to help organizations optimize the supply chain.

“Supply chain leaders must assess their company’s risk culture to determine their readiness to explore and adopt emerging offerings,” advised Christian Titze, research director at Gartner, in a recent blog. “If in doubt, consider piloting small projects to determine whether the potential benefit of the technology trend is worth the risk and required investment in new skills, capabilities and services.”
