Arrow Receives Its First Responsible Recycling Certification in Europe

NEU ISENBURG, Germany — Arrow Electronics, Inc., announced today that it has received certification to the Responsible Recycling standard for its value recovery business based in the Netherlands. The R2 certification represents the first of its kind for Arrow’s operations across Europe and adds to Arrow’s R2 certifications in the United States and Brazil. The certificate relates to the procurement, refurbishment and resale of electronic equipment.

Arrow’s value recovery business in the Netherlands is part of an industry-leading global network of processing centres that provide secure and environmentally responsible asset recovery, data sanitization, testing and screening, remarketing, service parts management, and product returns management services for a wide range of electronic equipment.

“Arrow continually strives to employ the highest ethical and socially responsible practices in all regions of the world in which we operate,” said Joep van Loon, vice president and general manager EMEA for Arrow’s value recovery business. “In doing so, we incorporate standards and best practices into our reuse strategy that seek to recover value and recycle only when necessary. Certification to R2 is a significant part of our global compliance strategy.”
