Online Survey would have been a better idea to give a wide range of data collection and gives a better result and achievement.

Thanks for all the responses! Yes, confining our data collection to West Coast US and on-site interviews would be limiting. However, this is just the first stage; watch for more sites and an online component in the coming months. The report is tentatively scheduled to be complete by Q2 2012. For those wanting to participate, send me an email and I'll make sure you are included.

Agreed, the higher the rate of participation, the more telling the results.

I have to agree with the previous comments and wonder why this survey isn't being done online. To set this up in person on the West Coast eliminates a large number of companies and doesn't give you solid data points. By leaving out so many global companies you are limiting the capabilities of your survey and what the data truly means.

There are plenty of companies that you can set up rather cheap surveys through, or you could even conduct phone interviews, at least this way you can include the entire globe.

Sounds like a good idea but I agree with Jacob in that an online survey should also be offered for those companies unable to attend in person.

Bruce, I think initially they can create an online survey and data capture forum to collect the relevant data’s from supply chain industry and OEM/EMS related peoples or customers across the globe. Now they are restricting themselves to a particular location/region. So the final research result may not reflect the global opinions. In second stage they can have a face to face or telephonic detailed data collection.
