Be sure to read Walter Tobin's blog titled Building Diversity: Time to Invest in a Shovel & Some Fish!. He makes some excellent points about how industry people have to step up and encourage and suport people coming up the ranks. That's how I got into the industry--and once we hit experienced, we owe it to our industry to give back.

Over the years many things have change I including a revolution in what men are doing that women can not do. While that started as gender disparity long time ago when women are not even allowed to study science, women have patiently waited for this time when gender will mean so little to success, achievements and results. I believe that percentage will rise again as the years roll by because as it mattered then, it does not really matter any more.
