Digi-Key Has New Cree Stock

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry’s broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, today announced it has stock on Cree’s CMF20120D Silicon Carbide Power MOSFET.

This new product is now available for purchase on Digi-Key’s global websites and will be featured in future print and online catalogs. The CMF20120D has increased the upper voltage limit of silicon MOSFETs (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors–a device used for amplifying or switching electronic signals). The product features high-speed switching, low capacitances, and fast body diode, while being easy to parallel and simple to drive. This particular MOSFET allows for higher system efficiency, reduced cooling requirements, avalanche ruggedness, while it increase system switching frequency.

Applications for the CMF20120D include solar inverters, down-hole drilling equipment, and motor drives.

“As interest for Silicon Carbide devices continue to grow due to its inherent efficiencies, Digi-Key is excited to offer this expanded offering from Cree, a recognized leader in this technology,” said Dave Doherty, Digi-Key’s vice president of semiconductor product.

Digi-Key Corporation focuses on providing customers with superior service, which includes product selection and availability, on-time delivery, and responsiveness. Using leading-edge processes and state-of-the-art technologies, Digi-Key serves a global customer base from its 600,000 square foot facility in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA.
