Distributor Preference Survey Tracks Customer Perception

UBM's Global Distributor Customer Evaluation Study, which was released to a select audience at the recent EDS tradeshow in Las Vegas, offers a snapshot of how customers perceive the leading electronics distributors in the industry.

In this year's study, two distribution giants (Arrow and Avnet) were essentially flat in ranking and share from a year earlier. After many years of slipping, Future Electronics shows marked improvement in a variety of areas.

The study, which has a history stretching back three decades, polls engineering, supply chain/procurement, and corporate professionals about their perceptions of the big names in the electronics distribution arena. The survey queried more than 2,700 electronics industry professionals to get their take on semiconductors, connectors/interconnects, passives, electromechanical devices, and power.

A full copy of the study is available for download from TechOnline, a sister site (registration required), but we also wanted to share some of the highlights. Click the image below for our slideshow on the study.

Hailey, from slides, it's very clear that Digi- key is marching ahead of all its competitors in all segments.  They are the most preferred distributor too. I think the participants of this survey are only from US and non from other areas like EU or Africa or Asia pacific regions.
