CAPE TOWN, South Africa & POING, Germany — STMicroelectronics, a global leader in developing and delivering semiconductor solutions across the spectrum of microelectronics applications, and EBV Elektronik, an Avnet (NYSE: AVT) company and a leading specialist in EMEA’s semiconductor distribution, signed a distribution agreement for the Republic of South Africa which became effective February 2011. Under the terms of the agreement EBV Electrolink distributes product groups MCU/SPEAr & RFID from STMicroelectronics.

When paired, STMicroelectronics’ state of the art devices with EBV’s technical expertise, commercial services and logistics and supply chain capabilities, the result is high-quality solutions. This means shorter lead times for our customers across South Africa, reduced time to market and another unique product line,” said Steve Stafford, managing director of sales and marketing, South Africa at EBV Electrolink.
