Atlanta, GA — ECIA announces that Alison R. Harris will lead the International Trade Compliance SMEG for ECIA's recently formed Global Industry Practices Council (GIPC). The ITC group will work to identify global trade compliance issues and provide best practice guidance within the electronic components authorized channel.
Alison Harris is a trade compliance professional with a progressive background in transportation, logistics, import, export and trade compliance program management. In her role at Avnet as director of international trade compliance for the Americas, she is responsible for the development and management of the export, import, and international trade functions for the company. Based at Avnet’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, Alison is a Code of Conduct Advisor for Avnet and is an active member in Society of International Affairs, International Compliance Professionals Associate, and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
Navigating this complex area of changing trade compliance regulations is the primary purpose of this Subject Matter Expert group. Examples of the regulations and programs this group will focus on are ITAR, EAR, NAFTA, CTPAT, Customs and Border Protection and Census regulations.
