In 2010, the city of Munich, Germany bid a temporary farewell to the biggest premier electronics show in Europe. It's hard to believe that two years have come and gone, but needless to say, members of the electronics industry are packed up, re-energized, and thrilled to be heading back to Munich for Electronica 2012.
Despite a bumpy ride with the economy in Europe and around the world, Electronica 2012 is shaping up to be a record breaker. The halls are filled to capacity with exhibitors and vendors. The booth construction and preparations are near completion.
The international flavor of the tradeshow is apparent everywhere. We've heard almost every language in the world while walking in and around the exhibit halls and the hotel. What this tells us is that despite industry reports of slowdowns in production for the semiconductor industry, as well as economic challenges, companies are optimistic and making the investment for the future.
So, while today it's a bit cloudy and rainy outside, the forecast for the week is sunshine and bright skies, both in Munich proper and inside the halls of Electronica 2012.
If you are attending, stop by and see us at Hall A5, Booth 120. We've got over 90 meetings scheduled during the course of the four days, but we'll make time for you.
