Enterprise Asia Honors Arrow’s Kong

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Peter Kong, president of global components for Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), has been named as a 2010 Asia Pacific Outstanding Entrepreneur. Part of the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards, the award recognizes leaders who demonstrate exceptional commitment to developing successful businesses within the region.

“His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to cultivating and mentoring talent, not only in Asia Pacific but in all the regions in which we do business, are highly valued by customers, suppliers and employees alike.”

The awards are given by Enterprise Asia, a non-governmental organization for entrepreneurship, and supported by local government and business.

“Peter’s service-oriented mindset and ability to deliver results have been instrumental in the advancement of Arrow’s global components business,” said Mike Long, chairman, president and chief executive officer for Arrow Electronics, Inc. “His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to cultivating and mentoring talent, not only in Asia Pacific but in all the regions in which we do business, are highly valued by customers, suppliers and employees alike.”

As Arrow’s president of global components, Mr. Kong is responsible for the company’s components business, operating in 47 countries and territories, with over 250 offices and 10,000 employees. He previously held the position of president of Arrow Asia Pacific, where he managed Arrow’s strategy and operations in 11 countries and territories within the region.
