Farnell Stocks AVX Capacitors

LONDON — Farnell, the leading multi-channel distributor of electronic and industrial components has announced that it is to stock latest surface mount polymer tantalum capacitors from AVX. The Elektra 2010 award winning devices include the single anode TCJ series and the multi anode TCM series.

The new parts complement the wide range of AVX components already stocked by Farnell that include capacitors, resistors, crystals and oscillators, and interconnect products.

The new surface mount polymer tantalum capacitors achieve a number of industry firsts including the highest operating voltage (50V) for devices of this type, and lowest equivalent series resistance (ESR) values (down to 25mΩ). Able to withstand high ripple currents, the capacitors are well suited to applications in a wide range of high power circuits. Excellent levels of stability over temperature and applied voltage ranges plus excellent robustness and low profile packaging (2.6mm) that is lower than equivalent electrolytic capacitors further differentiate and add to the versatility of the new capacitors.

“We are excited to be able to offer our engineering customers these new technically advanced devices for their new product designs,” said Andy Brook, Product manager for passive components and Circuit protection at Farnell. “The relevance and importance of AVX’s new surface mount polymer tantalum capacitors is underlined by the fact that they managed to win the highly competitive Passive & Electromechanical Product of the Year category at the most recent Elektra Awards.”
