Future & Touchstone Announce Op Amp Comp

MONTREAL, Canada — Future Electronics and Touchstone Semiconductor are sponsoring a contest in search of the ‘coolest op amp’ design using the new TS1001, a unique rail-to-rail part that runs on 0.8V and uses only 0.6µA. The op amps are provided to all participants upon request, there is no entry fee, and the winner will receive $1,000 (USD).

Adhering to a current budget of 5µA or less, project submissions should demonstrate that low power doesn’t mean limited functionality. Entries will be judged based on creativity, degree of difficulty, presentation, and ‘coolness’ factor. The more original and the lower the power, the better!

The deadline for registration is Friday, June 17th, 2011 and all submissions must be received no later than midnight US Pacific Time on Friday, July 15th, 2011. No purchase is necessary. The competition is open to both U.S. and international applicants, who are responsible for abiding by any and all applicable rules in their respective countries for entering contests. Employees of Future Electronics and Touchstone Semiconductor are not eligible to participate. Please visit for more information and a complete list of submission guidelines, contest rules and prizes.
