ATLANTA — International logistics provider DACHSER is growing to meet demand in the Benelux region with the development of a new logistics center in Belgium. The new facility begins operation this month and includes a new 75,000 square feet transit terminal with 68 gates and a 25,000 square feet three-story office building.
“DACHSER is continuing to grow in key markets throughout the world,” said Frank Guenzerodt, President and CEO of DACHSER USA. “Just as we’re expanding our presence in the U.S. with added facilities and enhanced logistics services, we’re seeing the need for more and larger facilities in other markets around the world.”
The new Belgian facility is located in Willebroek, a strategically favorable area between Brussels and the port of Antwerp. This provides for excellent connections to the most important European and international economic regions. DACHSER Belgium has been at this location since 1995 and currently employs a staff of 90 people. The newly built facilities are less than 3 miles from the former premises, which will be closed once the move is completed.
The new transit terminal is a state-of-the-art facility featuring an underfloor conveyor chain for convenient and safe transport of shipments. With more than 9 acres of land at the new facility, DACHSER Belgium’s has ample room for further expansion.
