MANSFIELD, Texas — Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the RN4020 Bluetooth Low- Energy Module from Microchip. Building on Microchip's deep Bluetooth (BT) Classic experience, the RN4020 module carries both worldwide regulatory certifications and is Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certified. This full-featured, Bluetooth 4.1 compliant smart module comes equipped with an integrated Bluetooth Low-Energy (BTLE) stack, onboard support for common SIG low-energy profiles, and is pre-loaded with the Microchip Low-energy Data Profile (MLDP). The MLDP functionality enables designers to easily stream any type of data across the BTLE link.
The Microchip RN4020 Bluetooth Low-Energy Module, available from Mouser Electronics, is a complete stack-on-board module. The device can connect to any microcontroller using a UART command interface, and it can also operate as a stand-alone device. The RN4020 smart module includes a Bluetooth Low-Energy (BTLE) stack, a built-in PCB antenna, and all standard BT SIG profiles, including Microchip's Low-energy Data Profile (MLDP). All of the programmable profiles are stored and selectable on the module, and even private services can be created. Having the RN4020 integrated with the BTLE stack and onboard SIG and MLDP profiles not only speeds time to market, but also aids designers in ensuring Bluetooth compatibility.
