ATLANTA — ECIAauthorized.com, the new distributor inventory search website launched in May by the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA), is adding more distributors and compiling impressive performance statistics as the deadline for free member listings approaches.
Less than two months remain for ECIA-member distributors to include their inventory on the site at no cost. Currently 37 authorized distributors display their inventories for search on http://www.ECIAauthorized.com.
Usage by purchasing professionals and engineers continues to grow, as well. So far more than 350,000 buyers and specifiers have visited the site. The latest statistics show about 2,400 users per day, or 100 every hour.
“The time for ‘wait and see’ is over,” said ECIA President Robin Gray. “Our usage is up nearly 11% in the past month alone. Buyers want safe sources for the components that they purchase and they are coming to ECIAauthorized.com to find them.”
The new website is a major part of the association’s fight against counterfeit parts. “We’re providing OEMs and CEMs with a secure and unbiased location to find available to sell authorized products,” said Gray.
All distributors represented on the site are ECIA members and are authorized channel partners with their manufacturers. The site only lists inventory that is genuine and backed by the manufacturer’s warranty. All search results are displayed at random from partial to exact matches.
With 37 complete authorized distributor inventories and millions of components searchable at once, buyers can fill an entire bill of materials, or locate one hard-to-find part at http://www.ECIAauthorized.com, with full product support and warranty coverage.
The distributors now represented on the site include many of the largest national and international full-line distributors plus regional firms and some with more specialized product lines. “We encourage all our distributor members to join us in taking more of the risk out of the electronic components marketplace for their customers,” Gray said.
