Mouser Chief Executive Gets ECIA Award

ATLANTA — The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) presented a Distinguished Service Award honor to Glenn Smith of Mouser Electronics at the recent 2011 Executive Conference at the InterContinental O’Hare Chicago Hotel. The award acknowledges an association member for significant contributions to the industry and their active role in the association.

During the awards presentation, ECIA Chairman John Denslinger of Murata Electronics acknowledged Smith’s leadership and contributions to the association. Smith has served extensively on the NEDA, NEDA Education Foundation and ECIA Boards of Directors. “Glenn is dedicated to the industry, his employees and the company”, said Denslinger. “He has been the driving force in launching the first authorized-only inventory search website: If not for his vision, energy and financial support, the project may have languished. It now boasts a substantial and ever-growing number of participating companies. He is passionate about advancing the authorized electronic components industry, and we are grateful for the energy he brings to the cause.”
