MANSFIELD, TEXAS – Mouser Electronics, a top global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, was formally recognized with a proclamation on Dec. 10 by the City of Mansfield, Texas, for its economic and civic contributions to the city and for Mouser being named the 2012 Employer of Excellence for Tarrant County.
The proclamation reads: “I, David L. Cook, Mayor of the City of Mansfield, Texas, join with members of the City Council to hereby recognize Mouser Electronics and ask residents to join in celebrating this important milestone in the company’s history. We thank them for their continued support of Mansfield as both an employer and as a partner in our efforts to better our community.”
Mouser is the city’s largest private employer, with nearly 1,000 people at its global headquarters, and pumps more than $835 million into the economy every year. “This is a tremendous honor for Mouser and every employee,” states Glenn Smith, President and CEO of Mouser Electronics. “It is extremely gratifying to know that our efforts are appreciated in the city we call home.”
The city proclamation cites Mouser as “one of our most philanthropic corporate citizens, working with the Mansfield ISD to assist students in learning robotics, building homes for Habitat for Humanity and donating to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.”
The Local Employer of Excellence award is given by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, the local chapter of the Texas Workforce Commission, which also cited Mouser as a top five finalist for Texas Workforce Employer of the Year for 2012. Mouser was recognized on Dec. 12 at the Workforce Solutions’ Annual Awards meeting.
