NESS ZIONA, Israel – Amit Dror, CEO and Co-Founder of Nano Dimension Ltd., a leader in the field of 3D printed electronics (NASDAQ, TASE: NNDM), today announced the important milestones the company achieved during the first half of 2017. Mr. Dror affirmed the company’s vision of revolutionizing the way electronics are made by developing additive manufacturing technologies.
“We have had a very active and productive start to this year, and all indications show it will continue throughout 2017,” said Mr. Dror. “Our team works very hard every day, and we are all incredibly proud of recent achievements. These include significant technological and multimaterials breakthroughs, additional installations of our groundbreaking DragonFly 2020 3D printers within manufacturing companies around the world, the securing of significant additional funds from private and institutional investors, and building a variety of solid distributorship relationships, among other things.
“The ability to 3D-print electronics is critical to product engineering teams who currently outsource PCBs for proof of concept, design validation and functional testing before a circuit board goes into production,” Mr. Dror added. “It accelerates design and development cycles, minimizes development cost and ensures a smooth transition of the circuit board from concept to product. Moreover, this groundbreaking technology is opening new opportunities for previously impossible electronics geometries and development workflows, taking product development and manufacturing into a new dimension of value.”
Among the company’s many accomplishments during the first half of 2017 are the following highlights:
· Technology Advancements:
o Began actively developing its disruptive technology beyond PCBs for rapid prototyping, expanding into fields such as embedded electronics, ceramic materials, breakthrough defense and aerospace applications.
o Announced in June that its wholly owned subsidiary, Nano Dimension Technologies Ltd., has developed novel copper nanoparticles that are resistant to oxidation and fuse into a conductive line after a sintering process at temperatures lower than 160 degrees Celsius.
o Won two project grant approvals from Space Florida, the aerospace and spaceport development authority for the State of Florida, and the Israeli Innovation Authority, as part of the Space-Florida-Israel Innovation Partnership Program geared to development and commercialization of aerospace and technology projects
§ As part of the project Nano Dimension will work with leading tech innovator Harris Corp. to develop 3D printing of electronic modules for space applications. This project will demonstrate, for the first time, the manufacturing of 3D-printed double-sided, multilayer circuits that distribute digital, power and RF signal at the same substrate, thus providing reduced size, weight, power and cost of space systems. New high-volume printed RF technology will provide improved reliability and uniformity of space systems by eliminating manual assembly.
§ The company will also work with Semplastics, and will focus on using Semplastics’ novel ceramic materials precursors with Nano Dimension’s unique 3D inkjet printing technology to create prototype applications for the aerospace industry.
· Company Milestones:
o Increased the Nano Dimension workforce globally to more than 100 employees, the majority of whom work in research and development; expanded operations and workspace in the Israeli headquarters in Ness Ziona.
o Welcomed former 3D Systems President & CEO Avi Reichental to the Nano Dimension Board of Directors.
o Supplied an additional 10 DragonFly 2020 3D Printers to industry leaders in various fields in the United States, Israel and Germany, increasing the number of beta customers to 16. The company’s beta program has increased Nano Dimension’s presence in markets including PCB manufacturing, aerospace, smart transportation, defense, consumer goods, finance, and medical devices.
o Entered the UK and Irish markets by collaborating with Anglo Production Processes, an industry-leading distributor.
o Announced that Nano Dimension’s wholly owned subsidiary, Nano Dimension Technologies Ltd., is now working with Zuken Inc. to advance the 3D printing user experience and prototype turnaround times. Nano Dimension will take advantage of the support for implementing electronic technologies provided by Zuken’s market-leading, native 3D, system-level design solution, CR-8000 Design Force.
o Secured approximately $13.5M in funding from Israeli and other non-U.S. private and institutional investors through private placements, including Ayalim Trust Funds, Shotfut Menayot Israel HaPhoenix Amitim and the Phoenix Investment and Finances Ltd.
o Participated in the opening bell ceremony of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on June 18. CEO Amit Dror rang the bell, signaling the opening of trade on the Israeli market.
