NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — Rochester Electronics announced that it has entered into a continuing solution agreement with NXP Semiconductors, a global leader in High Performance Mixed Signal electronics. This new agreement will provide customers a continuing supply of end-of-life products discontinued by NXP Semiconductors.
As products reach the end of their normal life cycle, there are many industries that still require extended support for mission-critical products and programs for up to 10 to 20 years, or even longer. With the average life cycle of a semiconductor being less than five years, customers could face massive re-design and re-qualification costs.
