OXFORD, UK — RS Components (RS), and Allied Electronics, the trading brands of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the world’s largest high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has been named Global Distributor of the Year by Crydom, a manufacturer of solid state relays and controls.
The distributor has been recognised for its topline sales at POS (point of sale) and POP (point of purchase). The prestigious award illustrates outstanding support in several key areas, including best-in-class relationships and collaboration; new product introduction; marketing and web site excellence; customer account expansion; local market engagement; and inventory positioning.
Commenting on RS’s success, Jean-Marc Theolier, General Manager at Crydom, states “It makes me extremely proud that Crydom and RS have forged such a strong distribution partnership. I am pleased to be able to recognise the highly effective sales and marketing cooperation between RS and Crydom that has been second to none in 2010. Together we can reach for higher levels while acknowledging the evolution of the market from regional to global. We have the greatest expectations in the coming years for our respective organisations.”
“Being named Global Distributor of the Year by a leading company like Crydom is very important to us because it rewards our strong commitment to working closely with key suppliers,“ commented Paul Quested, General Manager, RS. “It recognises that we support leading manufacturers with strong common marketing and sales plans, which reach a broad customer base. Developing such strong partnerships has helped RS to achieve double digit growth in the UK in the last financial year – a stunning result influenced by our positive reputation of being a flexible and reliable partner that customers can depend upon.”
Every year Crydom recognises its distributors and representatives for their performance. Usually these awards are given independently by region; however for 2010 the winner in overall global figures were RS and Allied making the award global.
