World Micro Adds CFO

ATLANTA — Georgia-based electronic components distributor, World Micro, Inc., announced today that it has appointed Ms. Teri McAlpin to serve as the company's chief financial officer. Her primary role will be in building financial strategies, metrics tied to the financial and overall corporate strategies, developing and monitoring corporate risk and control systems, and accurate financial reporting. McAlpin is a CPA with over twenty years experience working with sales and operations in a number of growth companies. She has been part of management teams at public and private companies, including a subsidiary of Steelcase, and a private equity owned manufacturer headquartered in the UK. McAlpin earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Georgia State University.

“I am delighted that Teri accepted this appointment,” said Dan Ellsworth, president and CEO at World Micro. “Besides her acumen in finance, Teri also brings us her extensive experience with inventory, manufacturing operations, purchasing, and sales operations. She is joining our executive team at a very timely moment — we've seen a lot of growth during the last year and her background will be a strong asset to the company. She has a proven track record of improving operations, profit, and cash flow,” added Ellsworth. The appointment comes on the heels of the company's record-breaking year-end closing. World Micro posted an annualized year-to-year 50% increase in revenue between 2009 and 2010.
